Licensure Requirements

As per the regulations in New Jersey, if you possess a multi-state license from another state or a Nurse Licensure Compact, you are permitted to practice nursing in New Jersey. However, you must apply for a New Jersey nursing license by endorsement if you do not hold a multi-state license. To do so, you must fulfill specific requirements specified by the state.

Traveling as an APRN

An Advanced Practice Nurse certified in any other state(s) who wishes to practice in New Jersey as an APRN must be approved by the New Jersey Board of Nursing.

Temporary License

If you plan to accept a travel nursing position in New Jersey as an RN or LPN, you can apply for a temporary license to practice in the state.
